The Rule of Twelve

"A good year beginning makes the whole year good" is a famous New Year's sign. It has no scientific basis, but this pattern is not in doubt among the people, so we try to follow astrological recommendations - in what conditions, in what clothes and in what company to celebrate New Year's Eve, so that the coming year is successful and predictable. There is an opinion that information about it is formed at midnight on January 1: the state in which we are, the thoughts that visit us, and the events that happen around us on New Year's Eve correspond to our immediate future. But there is also the rule of Twelve:

The rule of 12 is based on the same principle, but the projection of events into the future is distributed by months. That is, the first 12 days of January describe briefly the 12 upcoming months of the year:
  • what happens to you on January 1st will determine how your January will go overall,
  • what happens on january 2 - will happen again in February,
  • what happens on january 3 - will set the mood for your March
  • etc.

People who follow such things every year say that the "rule of 12" works amazingly accurately, although the analogies are not always immediately apparent.

Let's check it?

Your task is to write down the bright moments that happen to you every day from January 1 to January 12. The most convenient way to do this is to use the Notes app on your phone, because it's always at hand.

What should be emphasized?

The events are less important, than your impressions of it. Note the following:

  • What unusual thing happened to you today? What was unusual about your own behavior?

  • What changes, surprises, accidents occurred during the day?

  • Whose meeting do you remember? Something amazing can be associated even with a saleswoman in a store or a taxi driver who will give a lift you. It's important to pay attention to the type of these people (for example, a romantic, an evil or modest person, an inspiring personality, a leader, a daredevil, a slowpoke, etc.). There is a high probability that you will meet a similar person later in the year, and he or she will leave a mark on your life;

  • What bright emotions and feelings did you experience? All these situations (or similar ones) will occur within a year;

  • How was your day overall? If you were active, then the corresponding month will also be energetic.
Every day from January 1-12, write down your most significant feelings and experiences. And then check every month to see if they repeat.
