The history
Secret Santa gift exchange is known for a long time and very popular in USA and Europe countries. It’s usually played in work groups and in large families, because it's economical and fun. We learned about the game in 2014, and now we play it at work every year, we really liked it. If you haven't heard about the gift exchange yet, we recommend you to try it!
It all started with Christmas
We always expect miracles and joy at Christmas. We want to not only receive, but also give gifts. This happens naturally at home and among our friends: we know their wishes and prepare gifts in advance for each of them.
But at work... where we spend most of our active time... Of course, the work team is not a family, but there is still an attachment to these people. We want to not only work together, but also share a good mood.
But how, in a fit of tenderness for the team, to give gifts to each of your colleagues? It's too expensive. And why give trinkets? But how else can we please people we don’t know closely?
So Secret Santa has come to the rescue
At first we just, like in a lottery, drew pieces of paper with names. This made the task a little easier because you concentrate on only one person, study him, come up with an idea for his gift. Meanwhile, another colleague in the department is preparing a gift for you. The corporate event has become an expected event!
But when the game moved online, it evolved so much that it became even more interesting to play, not just at Christmas. Thanks to Secret Santa, you can make any friendly gathering exciting and mysterious - during a picnic or an alumni meeting.
Fun, mysterious, economical!
No one will be left without a gift, even in the largest team.
If you don't like surprises, make a wishlist. This, firstly, will be useful to your Secret Santa, and secondly, your gift ideas may be so good that inspire others to prepare gifts to their loved ones, and maybe they will finally understand what they want.
Christmas is coming!
